Steps to obtaining a Lease

The process to obtaining a lease for either apartment is as follows:

1) Contact me the owner via email to express interest. If after communicating with me--and from viewing the video on the blog--you are interested in signing a lease, I will ask you to complete an application.
2) Meet the property manager to view the apartment.

3) Complete the rental application - providing credit information and references

4) Participate in a short phone interview with me, the owner

5) If the application is approved, sign a lease.

Apartment 226

This apartment has 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, and occupies the first floor. The kitchen and bathrooms have recently been renovated.

The apartment features new kitchen appliances, plenty of cupboard space, re-finished hard wood floors, a working fireplace, a living room, a large dining room, and front and back porches. A washer and dryer are in the basement, the washer is a new front loader. There is plenty of storage space in the basement as well.

The driveway is shared with the upstairs apartment. The back yard is fenced in.

Pets are treated like people - if they are well behaved, kind and housebroken, then they are welcome.

This apartment rents for $900 a month which includes water. It is available July 1, 2015.

Apartment 224

This apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floors. It is a 3 1/2 bedroom with 2 full baths. To see what I mean by 3 and 1/2 bedrooms, view the video of the third floor.

The apartment also has a living room, dining room, hardwood floors throughout, a full size kitchen, new appliances, central heating and A/C, a working fireplace, a large front porch, a breakfast back porch, large closets with closet organizers, new windows, and lots of cheery light.

This apartment has it's own laundry facilities on the 3rd floor which consist of a large capacity front loading washer and dryer.

There is a fenced in back yard and a driveway that is shared with the 1st floor apartment. Plenty of storage space can be found in the basement as well as the attic eves.

Pets are treated like people - if they are well behaved, kind, and house broken, then they are welcome.

This apartment rents for $1300 per month which includes water.

It is available June of 2014.

The Neighborhood

This is a great street, very eclectic - retired professors, families, and students. This house is proud to be within the boundaries of Westcott Nation, a neighborhood known for it's culture and community pride. Three blocks away is Westcott Street, the neighborhood center with Mexican, Greek, Cuban, Middle Eastern, Sushi and pizza restaurants, as well as a bookstore, a couple of pubs, and independent movie theater, and a few convenience stores. The annual Westcott Cultural Fair in early fall is a lot of fun.

The house is one block down the street from the largest park in Syracuse - Thornden Park. Walking through the park rose gardens on the way to campus is a wonderful way to begin the day. The park offers free swimming at the pool in the summer, plenty of places to jog and walk dogs, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a beautiful amphitheater that hosts an annual weekend of "Shakespeare in the Park" each summer.
